Sam Houston Race Park History
Sam Houston Race Park, located in northwest Houston, was inaugurated on April 24, 1994 as the Class 1 racetrack in Texas. The Houston racetrack organizes two live races annually; Thoroughbred racing in each November and American Quarter Horse racing that continues from the end of June through September. In addition, Sam Houston Race Park offers a comprehensive simulcasting program 364 days each year in its grandstand and Player’s Lounge.
Racing fans can watch and wager on races across the country and from international racetracks including Australia and Hong Kong. There is a Winner’s Circle Restaurant and Jockey Club as well as 22-luxury suites ideal for entertaining. The Pavilion Centre is available for trade shows, business expos and large group events.
